Did anyone check out the ION's new 16" alloy wheel design? Much, much better than the plus-sign alloys, though I know many will say it's a Chevy Cobalt wheel.

Other good news: 2.4L Ecotec will be available in the ION (as part of a 'sport package') and the radios look really sharp. The challenge is integrating the piano black hardware with the ION's center IP.

So On-Star is going to be standard on all QC models?
has the service become that affordable? I am not complaining at all.. just seemed a bit odd.

OnStar will be standard on all GM vehicles by 2007. Just because your car has OnStar doesn't mean you have to subscribe. I think it's rather expensive. I'd take my free year then cancel.

I can't wait to see what the RL VUE package will look like. From what I read, it sounds like it will be worth the extra $. The new radios look awesome, I wonder if those are able to be fitted into older Saturn models.

Dizzy Re: 2006 info and pics!

I'm happy and I'm sad
No manual tranny with the 2.4L WTF?!? Why don't they just use the redline tranny if the other one won't handle the additional torque? We KNOW that one will handle it just fine. On the other hand, since that will be the base engine on the SKY, maybe they are keeping the manual tranny away from the ION version so it won't be quicker than the fabulous new roadster, which weighs a bit more than the ION sedan... hmmm.. makes me think

ION 1 is gone, but will the base model ION 2 share its current low price point? I like the new 5-spoke alloys. Very sharp.

I thought they were going to use the 2.4L on the VUE as well?

Standard OnStar.. but no standard air-conditioning?!? ack! we are so half-way there.

Like Storm Grey on the Coupe or VUE? Better get it in 2005 cuz that beauty is going away for FUSION ORANGE?!?!
We can't keep that color in stock in the VUE and they are throwing it out. Now THAT is disappointing.

Woo woo! We have Storm Grey on the VUE!!! Woo!

But, I have a question: are these the DEFINITE changes? Or are they not completely finalized yet? They NEED to keep Storm Grey available on both.

That makes me want to hurl. I seriously feel ill. I am SO sick of GM neglecting people who like manual transmissions by treating them like "economy" options. WHERE IS THE CLUE HAMMER WHEN YOU NEED IT!?

Default Re: 2006 info and pics!

I guess they arent making the 2.4L 5-sp because they are having a hard enough time selling the Redline as it is.

It is silly that you can get a 2.4 on the ION but not the VUE. Maybe there arent enough to go around now.

The ION 1-2 No A/C car should be interesting. I wonder how many stores will order them without A/C by mistake.

There is alos no longer a base Cobalt and A/C is standard on all. So the Cobalt price point will be higher than the ION.

3.9L Relay later in the year...
Side bags standard on Relay 3
Side bags for center row seats optional.... this will also be interesting

I was thinking the same thing about the base VUE. Why keep the 2.2L Ecotec when the 2.4L seems better suited as the base engine? Oh well.

When you "print" the PDF, you need to scroll through towards the end and you will see photos of radios and wheels.

I noticed they did not update the line drawings to reflect whatever new look the VUE and ION will get.

Well, making the SAB's standard on the 3 is good, but why did they stop there? The GM vans will be killed in the upcoming minivan side-impact crash tests without standard side airbags on ALL the models. Notice GM started making side airbags OPTIONAL around the time the IIHS side crash tests started, for sake of making money? I'd take paying extra for a nicer stereo or power door locks if it meant I had standard safety features.

Does it come with a higher grade, fully independent suspension? Or disc brakes instead of drums on the rear, at least?
