Default 1997 SC2 Fog Lights

What is the easiest way to get the fog lights off of the car? There is a space between the foam and the crossmember but I can't get my hand down there.

I just purchased some new OEM fogs to replace the old tired ones and I can't figure out (without taking the bumper off) how to get in there and remove them.

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks
Sliver

hmm....i would guess you can get them off from the bottom of the car... not really sure thought...sorry i can't help. If it seems theres no way to do it then i would just get it done at the shop...probably very cheap to get done....come on any advance members who can help him out? seems like a common install...

Not sure how to take the fogs out, but I would like to know where you got OEM lights from. I am looking for a set for a 98 SL2. I'm a volunteer EMT and want some to hook up a flasher to and add some warning power.

If I remember correctly, you just take off the two torx bolts holding the reflector assembly onto the frame. And then the plastic bit behind it should have a few bolts that you can remove to take the whole thing off.

pull the headlight, thats just two 10mm bolts, disconnect wiring, take a long extension with a 10mm swivel socket and remove the nut on the inside of the aluminum impact bar that secures the fog lamp bracket. to reinstall, take a piece of tape and use it to lightly secure the nut to your socket to start it on the bracket bolt, so you dont drop it..

Well today I finally got the foglights on and wow, what a pain. I took off the headlights, bumper, foam and main impact beam. Parts were scattered everywhere but its all back together and working beautifully.

I tried the swivel socket and to no avail, so I decided to just rip parts off the car until i could get to it easily. It only took me about an hour total so not too shabby.
