Just wondering what are the differences between the LS1, the LS2, and the LS3?

LS1 would be a 4cyl model of the the vehicle the LS2 is the 6cyl of the model the upper level. There is no LS3 though in the 2001 model year the models were renamed to be the L100 base model the L200 mid and L300 upper. There was at one point an LS model that was the entry level for the L in the 2000 model year. I hope this helps any questions please post I'll get back to you.

The "LS's (LS, LS1 & LS2) only existed for the first model year. They were then called the L100, L200 & L300 for 01 - 03. Then they were call L300.1, L300.2 & L300.3 for 04 on. Confused yet?

Yeah. But look on the bright side. Saturn's resale value is pretty bad. So a few years down the line pick up a 2005 L with Low Miles for around 9-10 :o). But the reason why it got Axed was because of the poor sales they had. Poor advertisement...etc etc.. Ask anyone if they know what a L Series Saturn is. First thing that comes to mind is a small little compact car. Nobody even really knows what it looks like.

i like the design of my 2001 L200 better than the redesigned version, i love my car, but like another posting, i have never seen an advertisement for the L series. so i guess it's saturn's fault for not having any sales, that is where GM needed to take some $$$ from their chevy advertising budget and give some to saturn.

They still sell them, but the production run has ended. Once they are all sold, thats it. No more L series.

They are selling so poorly a few could be around. I Saw 2003 when the 2004's had been out for a while and right before the 2005's.

I've been to three different saturn service centers within the past 3 weeks. I don't even see any L's in the showroom.

Thats all pretty confusing... So it was basically the engines and the options that determined what kind of L it was?

More or less. The two lower levels always had the 2.2 I4, while the high level got the 3.0 V6.

Basically. The LS was the base. Came with manual windows, locks, manual transmission...cheap seats...etc etc. LS1 was an upgrade with the seats being more comfortable. Power everything. Then the LS2 was basically an LS1 with fog lights 6 spoke alloy wheels and the V6 Engine

Saturn made only 700 of the L sedans for 2005 and no wagons. Must wait until summer 2006 for Aura sedan and who knows about the wagon
