Default What is this part called ... Thing lug nut attaches to??

I don't know the part name or the cost. It is the threaded portion that the lug nuts attaches to. On my SL2 the thread has been damaged and it is stripping the threads on the lug nut. This is for the rear passenger side with drum brakes.

Is it a single piece that is wedged in or part of a larger assembly.

Any help would be appreciated

I call it a lug bolt...see attached link:
http://autorepair.about.com/library/.../bldef-900.htm

I believe you have to pound them out through the hub/spindle...put an old nut on the bolt and tap it with a 5 lb. hammer...a little penetrating oil might help losen it too.

A more common name is wheel stud. They're pretty easy to replace. Pound the old one out, put the new one in its place and tighten down till its seated.
