1995 SC2
Default Throttle body fit

I want to bore out my throttle body, but I don't want to try on the one on my car. I have a 95 SC2, and would like to get one from a junkyard to bore out, incase i mess it up. What year throttle body's will work on my car? Will the SOHC work on the DOHC or not? Thanks

I think a 92-95 TB will work. DOHC only. A 95 SOHC may work.

You can take any TB off of any 91-99 DOHC and put it on any SOHC 95-99.

The 91-94 SOHC has a stupid throttle body injection (TBI) so the fuel injector is in the throttle body therefore it will not fit on any DOHC.

You can tell if it's a 91-94 by:
The ridiculous location of the air filter
The stupid automatic seatbelts (I wish I could get some regular seatbelts in mine)

I personally would highly recommend getting a throttle body off of ebay. They are 57mm machine bore down to the throttle plate and 55mm after that. Usually go for around $80 shipped. After that I'd use your bore skills on the intake manifold to match the 55mm TB.

-96 SC2 gets 35 mpg mix city/hw.

um. you need to look at the vacuum ports on top of the throttle body. they changed over the years. i know for a fact that a 92 and 96 dohc are different. the holes on top are opposite. sps has throttle body groups:
91-95 dohc and 95 sohc
96-97 dohc and sohc
98-99 dohc and sohc
2000-02 dohc
2002-02 sohc

^This is absolutely correct

If you're interested, I do them for $50 shipped if you send me one to modify. PM me for some pictures and comments from some of the people that I've done them for in the past.
