Default e-bay SC 2 - check the math out.

The car is a 1998 Saturn SC2 with 78,000 miles on it. It is a head turner and I have recieved many compliments from both friends and strangers while just out driving around. It currently has $2,000.00 worth of aftermarket parts on it, as well as a stereo that retails for about $1,500.00, and wheels that retail for about $1,600.00. All this added up comes to over $5,000.00. The Kelly Blue Book private party value on this car is $5,455.00. The car with all of its aftermarket parts and custimizations is worth over $10,400.00! Umm, that is a huge leap to add full retail of add-ons to the retail of a car. Fortunately for you, I am not asking nearly that much for it. I am only asking $5,500.00 for the car. Wow - this is better than winning the Lotto!! In order to sell the car this cheap I am selling the JL Audio subwoofers and amplifier separately. At an additional price, the subs and amp may be purchased with the car for $750.00. Wait, wasn't that part of the $5,000 in parts that made the car worth $10,400??...............

On a good day it is worth 4 grand and there is no telling how hard the 48k miles the owner put on it were. I love the math on the stereo - includes it in the purported 'value' of the car and then is selling it for extra money.

Any takers?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

Like it's a plus to put a car on synthetic oils and premium gas (shell, no less, *shudders*). Only ONE of my vehicles run on synthetic oils, and that is because it's a RACE car, so the first thing that pops to mind is this person RACED the car, a lot, and probably on the street.
Yeah, my drag car has only 54,000 miles on it. She's a 1996 SL2, and most of those miles were completed on the 1320..
NONE, and I repeat, NONE of my vehicles have EVER liked Shell gasoline, at any grade.
So really. Nice looking car and I am sure someone will be very happy with it, but NOT me....

I like how they disguised the slotted rear disk rotors for lowly drums too....

Piney, I don't know why you think its only worth 4k. Granted I don't value any of the aftermarket stuff he has done to it, but a 98 SC2 with 78k miles on it is hard to come by for 4k. (Hell, during my search, I only found one 95-98 for less than 6.5k).

Also, I think synthetic is definitely a plus. I don't know why it would make you think he raced the car. I run synthetic in all my cars (Granted, I do race them), but even my parents run full synthetic in their cars also. And no racing going on there.

I'd have to rip a lot of stuff outta there...

Premium gas... wouldn't that cause deposits in the long run?

1998 SC2 Auto with 78,000 miles
Values listed for 33302 on 06/12/2004
Vehicle Condition: Good
Trade-In Value: $3,500
Private Party Value: $4,655

KBB trade in is about all you'll get retail for a car around here. Cars with aftermarket stuff just have never appealed to me. I'd rather have a loaded up factory one than one done after the fact.

I can't believe that people buy cars from ebay in the first place.

(Then there is me that was bidding on a Caravan C/V doh!!)

There are some unusual cars on ebay like nearly new police packages, etc.

For normal cars, why?

my friend just bought his '97 SC2 with every option (except for auto) for $4300. They originally wanted a little over 6 grand but they reduced it since it was on the lot so long. Only a little over 71000 miles too!
