2004 VUE 3.5L
Default A CTS-based Saturn based flagship vehicle?

How awesome of a Saturn would that be for GM to take the CTS's platform (Sigma right?). To keep the price down, don't offer leather or those others Caddy features, but use the same powertrains, and rear-wheel drive platform. Oh and of course use Saturn's own styling (what ever that might be...)

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Use the 3.6L, no more Opel derived crap. Offer a manual and an auto. Offer a sport package.

How would it be a flagship if they didn't offer an option as simple as leather? They offer it on the ION!

I don't think they need it, Saturn made do with a 4 banger economy car as its "flagship" for 10 years and they didn't do to bad.

Why not go full-bore and use the CTS-V platform with the Corvette's LS6 400hp? That's what Caddy is doing. Should be on your Caddy dealer showroom floor by now...but you'll have to get in line.

Hmmm. To reverse the equation, why would anybody buy a Caddy if it was just a tarted up Saturn?

The caddilac'c sigma platform is not to be shared with anyone. Not even Buick. There is a cheaper zeta platform coming, however. RWD and all

When I bought my LW2, I read somewhere that L-Series was the flagship.
Yet another new flagship?? Or is there really A flagship?
Anyway... I guess

Should be shame on Saturn Corp if L-series was the flagship....not only it never did/sold well, it even got cut in this year too.

I'd say the Redline VUE AWD V6 is the flagship of Saturn, at least for now.

Not interested in the CTX as a Caddy, so I wouldn't want it as a Saturn either.

I'm not going to open my big mouth too much other than to say I would definitely wait until the 2nd model year to buy this.

a Saturn "CTS" would ROCK. leave out the fluff that Saturn owners don't need and built it in plastic. a front engine *rear* drive manual trans Saturn sedan would be very nice. drop the L and bring the CTS. the folks afraid of rear drive can buy a second set of wheels with snow tires

Yea, C&D loved theirs, but apparently it had enough axle hop that they thought they were going to tear the rear end out of it, and it had a few electronic glitches during the test.

How about something based on the Opel Insignia concept?

Opel Insignia

That's rear drive and has a 'Vette engine. I can see that as a Saturn.

I like that Insignia. Different enough not to overlap with the CTS. Saturn WILL be getting a V8 in a few years, so installing that instead of the Z06's V8 would put enough of a difference between the Saturn and the CTS. Just as long as the V8 has more than 270 HP, there's no problem.

If they're using the LG4 (5.3 Vortec V8 that will first appear in the Grand Prix GXP and Impala SS), the numbers are closer to 300-hp and would be more if not for FWD.
