I was browsing through the news section on caranddriver.com and came across this...I always find stuff like this semi interesting, but I do definetly agree with it. It definetly shows that sometimes women have more common sense when it comes to cars,as not only do the cars men prefer make way more power but they're also extremely pricey. That being said, what chick wouldn't wanna drive an M5 or and A8??
![]() Men Pick Power, Women Favor Function The top four vehicles among American men are high-performance cars — the Dodge Viper, the BMW M5, the Porsche 911 and the Audi A8. Rounding out the top five is the GMC Sierra pickup truck. Women picked the Toyota RAV4, Saturn's SC, SL and Ion models, and the Kia Sportage. These, anyway, are the findings of a study by R. L. Polk & Co., a noted vehicle industry research firm, which based its conclusions on an examination of "at least" 1,000 vehicle registrations of 2003 models. "American men have a clear preference for performance and power," said Lonnie Miller, director of analytical solutions at Polk, in a company news release. "Women — who have tremendous influence on purchasing decisions in the household — select vehicles that are practical. Saturn and Toyota are big winners in these rankings. Saturn has three models in the women's top five; Toyota has the top-ranked vehicle in terms of percentage of female buyers. Part of Saturn's success in appealing to women may be their hallmark no-haggle sales process; an acknowledgement that a customer-friendly approach can make a difference in attracting customers." It's kind of interesting that the "chick cars" are only slightly favored by women (57/43 for the RAV4, 54/46 for the SL), but the "dude cars" are overwhelmingly favored by men (94/6 for the Viper, 89/11 for the 911).
Wonder what that means. Are there a lot of women out there whose cars are registered to men (husband, father, fiance, etc)? Or are "dude cars" dudier than "chick cars" are chicky?

I must be a chick. I prefer practicality and logic over performance.

Hmm. If women prefer the Ion over a Viper, then that must mean when I go out cruising at night, they're more likely to look at my little silver sedan than a 500+ HP red beast. Score!

Well, when you're a guy with a flashy car, some woman will always assume that you are trying to compensate for something.
When your'e a guy with a practical car, you make them wonder. Personally, I've always considered myself to be a lesbian trapped in a man's body. ... 93 SC2 140,000mi
