I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Leave the fireworks to the experts and the sober! It's easier to drive when you still have both hands ;-) Personally, I will be celebrating just as our forefathers intended: overindulging in food and drink Be safe everyone!

From my post in The Off-Topic Category

Quote:
Not to make this seem too anal or anything, but the holiday we are celebrating is Independence Day. It comes on the 4th of July, but we don't celebrate the 4th. We celebrate the Independence.

Well, I hate to be a spoil-sport, but I have to work oncall - the good news is that I can roam about a little bit and can fix all but the most nasty problems from my home office - also known as the "Chateau Bow-Bow".

Everybody else have fun, catch some sun, don't get overdone, - sorry, gotta run.

Happy Fourth

Be good little boys and girls
Drive 55.
Don't run red lights and watch out for the cameras.
Give up your cars
Don't light fireworks
File your taxes
Give up your guns
Give up your rights
Give up your borders
Buy Chinese products
Vote for the most liberal candidates out there...

The founding fathers would be appalled. We really let this place go. If you give half a dam# what are you going to do about it?

I'll probably catch it with this one but here goes -

check out today's NealzNuze at http://www.boortz.com/nealznuz.htm

If you don't get there today, at the bottom is an archive.

Check out his comments about the Declaration of Independence, then a copy of the Declaration of Independence's text followed by an outstanding column written by Don Feder.

A society that puts equality...ahead of freedom will end up with neither equality nor freedom.
- Milton Friedman

The greatest Glory of a free-born People, Is to transmit that Freedom to their Children.
- William Havard

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.
- Thomas Jefferson

No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.
- Douglas MacArthur

The only good bureaucrat is one with a pistol at his head. Put it in his hand and it's good-by to the Bill of Rights.
- H.L. Mencken

What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long.
- Thomas Sowell

Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.
- Alexis de Tocqueville

Forget the 4th - celebrate independence every day!
