kids have a 2008 vue and the rear wiper and washer are not working.
checked fuse - good replaced motor - still no good. checked for power at the harness connection: Green - no power Red/white - power 12v grey - power when wiper switch is pushed in 12v not sure what the other 2 wires were for (solid red, black if i remember) what are my next steps? could the switch be bad at the dash? if so how to test? why does the motor have 2 power leads? looking for help. with winter coming, kids would like rear wipers. thanks |

Dark green 6 volt meter test shows ground to operate washer. suppling power will operate rear washer.
Gray 1 switch to wiper = 4.9 volts. switch to wash = 12.0 volts. Red / white 5 = 12.7 volts. Pink / Black 3 gate closed = 11.5 volts, gate open = 0.0 volts. Black 4 ground = 0.0 volts |

thanks for the post. can i still have these readings, and the switch on the dash below the radio be faulty? when the kids first got the car a year ago, the radio buttons and such were "sticky". like maybe a coffee of pop/soda spilled on it. i wonder if the switch is funky behind and needs a cleaning or replacement? |

The fact that the rear wiper and the washer don't work, suggests to me that it could be the switch, since the washer is a separate from the wiper motor.

Perform all of the voltage test at the wiper motor connector. Be sure to close the lift gate latch while testing. If the switch in the center console is bad you won't have 4.9 volts at the Gray wire 1 with the wiper switch on. Or 12.0 volts with the washer switch being pushed.
If that is good. Then test the Pink / Black wire 3 for 11.5 volts with the gate gate / latch open then = 0.0 volts when the gate / latch closed. |

The wiper motor also includes the wiper module. The wiper module controls the washer pump.
