That's strange. I suppose you tried both keys. And inserted the keys 180*.

I suppose a locksmith might be able to help. OnStar can unlock a lot of GM cars but if the battery is dead that might be difficult.

DIY option

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I think onstar needs a live battery.
Thank you for the idea!

You should try to spray some lube into the lock cylinders. If you don't use the key in the door regularly they may be seized up.
You could also try to pop the hood through the grill. That way your could get a boost or a charger on it.
I did this when the hood release cable broke on my Aura, not sure it will work on Astra.

I only have 1 key. The other key was used when I had a remote starter installed.
The key turns but it does not unlock the door.
I turn the key clockwise 180 degrees.
I read somewhere that the manual key lock is also electrically activated.
I dont know if that is true or not.
I'll try some lube in the lock.
Ang try getting in through the grill.
Thanks for the help guys!

This video is for a Vauxhall Vectra C but it looks like the same hood mechanism. At 3:24 it shows the hood release cable. Hopefully you can get something hooked around it so you can pull it to pop the hood or maybe you can come up with something to push it from the passenger side. You may be able to get to it from underneath. Hopefully the video will give you some ideas.

Another trick to get a jump or charge on the battery would be to jack up, safely support the car and gain access to the starter.
Connect the charger - lead to the chassis or engine block and the + to the heavy red wire on the starter solenoid (it connects directly to the battery). Plug in the charger and give it a few minutes to charge a bit, hopefully then the door will open.
You could do the same with a boost pack or battery.
