2005 VUE 2.2L
2004 L-Series 2.2L Sedan
Default In The Market For A VUE!

I am the proud owner of 3 Saturns and have had great luck, low costs, and they have served their purposes well. My '96 has 106,000 on it and I want to sell it and get a VUE!

What is the general consensus of the VUE in regards to quality, reliability, and maintainability?

Do you recommend the 6 cyl, the 4 cyl, FWD, or AWD? Is the CVT transmission any good?

Thanks.

Go with the auto trans and v6 no problems. As far as awd or fwd thats a choice only you can make. See what kind of driving you do and then make a choice for the awd or fwd. I feel both are fine but awd is more $$$$.

I recommend the 5spd/4cyl FWD!
Most fun, most economical since it is the least expensive Vue and gets the best fuel economy =)

How much 'fun' is it to have your doors blown off by a Ford Escape with a V6 at a stop light?

V6 AWD is the only option for me since the 4 cyl CVT is troublesomes.

I'd go with the AWD V-6, but then I'm partially biased !!

You sure you want a Vue after reading all the.....umm, stuff in this forum?

I suggest you thoroughly test ride..very thoroughly....the Vue that you are going to buy before signing on the dotted line. Any hint of something untoward...run away...farrr away!

Actually, it is a bloody infectious little car. Feels so good in most ways...but man.....the things that go wrong drive you nuts. Love/hate relationship would describe it.

a) we all know SUVs are all about drag racing
b) it's always relevant to pit a 4cyl against a V6
c) because fun is only measured in mph

Thanks for playing. We're all out of medals, so I'll email you a cookie.

I recommend the V6 engine for sure. I also recommend the automatic transmission as So Cal traffic would give you a left leg like Arnold stepping on the clutch over and over. AWD vs FWD? Your choice. I did not intend to go off road with my new Vue in any case. I like the sunroof option very much. All of the goodies I got on Ebay and saved a bundle and installed them myself. I just clicked over 25,000 miles and runs like a dream. I consider myself to be a very satisfied Saturn customer and recommend this vehicle to everybody. Being made in the USA is also a big plus for me.

This made me laugh as the Vue will give the Ford a good run for the money. I drove both vehicles and I found the Vue to be faster, IMHO!
