Default AutoShow In Motion

I went to the “AutoShow In Motion, GM’s presentation of 2003/2004 lines.

There were lots of people there but the lines weren’t too long. You could test drive, for about three minutes, most GM vehicles on a “test track.” The track consisted of rubber cones and pieces of rubber to simulate a rough road. Hummer’s track was built of mounds of dirt and gravel mounded into a steep hill and a 45% incline. With a GM companion setting shotgun, I drive the course. Car handled great. I don’t thing in real life I’d have the nerve to drive a 45% incline.

You could drive competitive cars like Honda vs. Saturn. The Saturn was an L-300/2003 with all the toys. The Honda was stripped, kind of dirty inside and had no air- conditioning. The L came out best.

The people controlling traffic flow did not know the difference between an L and an Ion. I asked to drive an L and they sent me to an Ion.

I also tried the Buick Rendezvous, a nice car, but about eight grand more the Vue.

They gave away T-shirts and chicken sandwiches for lunch. I guess GM does not sell to vegetarians.

There were no salesman and no prices were quoted.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

We salespeople went on The 20th and 21st to a non-public showing at ASIM. The guy we had talking about the new Malibu made a few mistakes I caught, such as HZ rating and claiming the car had a 4L60 tranny (that's a rear drive tranny, Malibu is a FWD) They had an ION QC3 with a body kit I found "eh" when I was there

I'm not too keen on the front end.

Give me choices in powertrain, great handling and decent MPG and I will buy a Saturn again.

That's ok because it will probably be ripped off the first time the owner negotiates a driveway.
