Default Things I Need To Know-Preventative Maintenance

Hello, all. I just bought an '05 Base Vue, and it will take me a little time to get up to speed with things. The only thing keeping it from being licensed is a windshield (which isn't terrible, but wouldn't pass due to where the crack is). That's an easy $225.00 fix, but what I would like to know is there anything that is an issue with the particular configuration that I should preemptively address. It's 4X2 with a four cylinder/5MOD. Mileage is 128,000 original miles. The clutch and fuel pump were replaced before purchase.

I do know from reading here that I need to check the sunroof drains and particularly ensure the drains are clear AND ensure they haven't come loose at the pan. Otherwise, there's no CEL/fumes/leaks/noise and it drives well. Thanks in advance for any advice.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

It sounds like you have another 4 cylinder base winner on your hands! Congrats!

The only sore spot I could point out is to see if the brakes have any indication of binding. A quick change of the front brake hoses take care of that known problem.

The brakes are fine. I'll take that as there is no known issues I need to be aware of. Thanks for your reply.

I was a bit concerned reading about the 2.2L chain tensioner issue, but that *seems* to be largely ~2002-2003.
