Default Parking lights flicker

I noticed the other morning that my steering wheel lights are flickering. Upon closer inspection I noticed it is the parking lights and accent lights and hazard button light as well. I tracked down the fuse for this circuit in the the trunk mounted fuse box and checked the fuse which was fine. I then checked the relay and it is fine. I even tried switching the relay for another one from the same fuse panel in the truck and the lights still flicker. I tried tracking down some of the wiring for the parking lights to see if there is short or something but have not found any issues. So I thought I would check on the forum to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. My only other thought is that maybe the alternator since it has not been changed in 130,000 miles, but I would think if the alternator was going bad all the lights would flicker not just one circuit. Has anyone had an issue like this?

Default Re: Parking lights flicker

Never seen flickering isolated to a circuit or two.
Does it do it engine off and engine on? If it's only when engine is running that would point toward the alternator. If the flicker is happening with the engine off, it would point you towards a wiring/ground issue.
If it has diode troubles it could produce AC ripple but should cause everything on every circuit to flicker.
This video shows the ripple from a faulty alternator.
He shows the AC ripple on a scope but if you have a multimeter setting it to AC volts and connected across the battery with the engine running will tell you if there is an AC component coming from the alternator. At least that would be ruled out.
If there is none, measure the DC voltage on the contact on top of the fuse you mentioned to ground to see if it is varying. If it's not, you may have a ground corroded or breaking for the circuits involved.
Check and Reseat the fuses that feed the rear electrical center. They are in the Engine compartment fuse box. #s 21 and 22. Also check/reseat the regulated voltage control fuse #54.
