2007 VUE Red Line
Dizzy New Strut Recommendations

I just took ownership of an 07 red line fwd (and love it!). Looking at new struts/shocks. I want to keep the red line ride height and want to keep the OM springs. Economically my thoughts are to get a set of decent pre-assembled quick struts, disassemble them and replace the springs with the red line springs. This is as compared to having to get the strut, bellow, spring seat and strut cap separately.
Also need new shocks in the back and will be replacing spring insulators while I'm back there.

So two part question:
1) Has anyone had experience swapping red line springs onto struts, or should I just go the route of buying strut parts piecemeal?
2) Any brands of pre-assembled strut that are recommended or people have had success with that wont break the wallet or brands to avoid all together?

Thanks!

...I would buy a set of kyb struts, shocks, and a set of moog bearing plates. You do need the spring compressing tool to take your old set apart, to reuse the redline springs. Also you will need to invest in a pair of alignment bolt/cams when you go and get it aligned afterwards. An impact helps with the strut bolts,it's not that bad of a job, hope that helps, DC.

Thanks! I was actually looking at the KYB's. Never took into consideration about that camber bolt. Since the ride height isnt changing, is the camber bolt necessary? Also: Where abouts is that camber bolt installed?

...Yea, you will need it for an alignment, especially with new struts, DC.
