Default So I just made it to 200k miles....

Just put I think the 2nd or 3rd battery in since I've had it. Physically its not in the best of shape, but mechanically I've always taken care of it. Bought it when I was super down on my luck and its never let me down. Love this thing. Also lol at missing the 200k pic

Hi wisconsinfan,

Congratulations! I hope to get there soon. I'm at 225 km, that's about 140,000miles. Still looks new inside, a testament to the rugged quality. Hope things are looking better for you now.

I'm a big Packers fan, no joke.

I've personally put in 2 alternators, other than that, just tires. I have the 18in wheels and they are low profile tires and I've had a total of 4 flats. Only 1 was caused due to wear.

Replaced the cat converter last summer. That sucked was 700 with parts + labor. That's way out of my league so had it done.

Both control arms were replaced about 50k miles ago.

Changed the thermostat.

Biggest issues I have coming are I need to replace the lug nuts, and the wiring in the engine compartment is literally disintegrating.

That is excellent to hear and pretty reliable for the mileage. I am only on alternator #2 at just over 100k miles.

Were the control arms part of a strut/shock job? Or were the ball joints and bushings getting sloppy?

I'm 3/4 of the way there with 153K miles. Hopefully I can make it, as I still really enjoy driving this little car.

At what mileage did the check engine light burn out? Ha. You must have replaced about four flex pipes, three ignition coil packs and the same number of stabilizer link sets. The winters are hard up here in Wisconsin on my car. Congratulations anyways.

Hey you would be surprised how well the coil packs hold up when you replace the spark plugs every 25k km, I replaced mine at 140k km just as a service but still have it in case something happens. Happily I don't have to worry about the flex pipe or stabilizer links now that they are either stainless or anodized aluminium.

108,000 miles on my original coilpack knock on wood. I do plugs every 25,000 miles and use plenty of dielectric grease.

Jinxed myself lol lost the drivers side strut mount due to rust. Passenger side doesn't look too good either. Doesn't look like the repair cost will be too horrible.
