Default 1998 SW2 Carpet From Other Gens??

My 98 SW2 has no carpet in it, at all. My local junkyard has a 99 SW2, a few 96's and 97 SL2's. I was wondering if any of the earlier and older gens and/or models carpet would fit into the 98 SW2.

They all fit fine. 97, 98, 99 will be the best and easiest install.

After putting a '96 SL2 carpet in a '97 SC1 I say they all fit just fine

Though, to be fair...the 4dr carpet had holes under the front seats for rear foot heaters the 2dr's don't have and the B-Piller cutouts were different but hidden under the trim.

Could be extra intake's for the HVAC but it looked like it was piped into the front foot heater pipes rather than the intake.

There are HVAC vents routed on the floor through the center console and under the front seats diverting warm/cool air to the rear seat foot wells. Apparently only applicable to sedans and wagons though. I didn't know that.

You can see them in this photo; follow the red arrows.

As a side note; how do you link to a photo in the photo library to use in a post. Credit to username bender for the photo. I had to use the Snipping Tool to put it in this post.

You'll have to either disable Javascript or gather a bunch of us to beg Charlie to enable it on his end. Given the cost of bandwidth I understand why he has it disabled, but there ought to be a way to enable it just for this site (similar to Photobucket's hotlinking ban).

Thats what those are! haha. Always wondered that. Are the seats a breeze to remove? I know they are on rails so they have springs I assume.
EDIT* I assume if the seat is alway the way forward its safe to remove then?

Each front seat is held in with four E10 bolts and you have to disconnect 1 electrical connector (seat belt sensor) on the drivers side. Use the right socket as once you round out the head it's difficult to get the bolt out as there's not that much material there to work with. You can remove them all the way forward or in any position as long as you don't engage the fore/aft position lever while they are out. Even at that it not too big a deal. I usually remove the rear bolts, push the seat back and then remove the front bolts. I do it this way so the rails aren't sticking out and removal from the car is easier.

One some of the coupes, you have to slide the seat belt out of the presenter arm (on my 3rd gen, it is attached to the headrest leg).

I always forget, and try to pull the seat out only to have the belt stop me

Would I have to swap the rails? If say it was a 96,97,98,99 seat into the 98 wagon. Or can I leave the rails alone by chance?

The seat is bolted to the car through the rails. All rails are the same between Sedan, Wagon and Coupe; all generations 91-02.
