2001 SW2
Default lesson learned 2001 sw2

Hey all, so the serpentine belt idler pulley was chirping, replaced it. Now no more chirping, BUUUUTTTT for some reason the belt tensioner decided to stop working properly after I installed the new belt (exact belt size just a new belt).
Dang nang it, so I ordered a cheap tensioner off FleaBay figuring I could save 30 bux cuz Orielys wanted 60 for a Gates tensioner. Well I guess you get what you pay for. Right at start up the ebay tensioner was rattling like a coffee can filled with gravel. So off to Orielys I go, spent 60 bux after taxes for the Gates tensioner, start it up, no rattles, no noises works as it should. Now I have to argue with the Ebay guy to try and get my money back. Like thats gonna happen.
Lesson learned, the cheap parts are cheap for a reason.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Check the circumference of the pulley on the original vs ebay one it may be smaller than the original. If so then you have a spare just swap pulleys.

Open a case with ebay on your account page for the auction item. Ebay always sides with the buyer so the seller will be paying shipping costs back too. Simply state that the quality was garbage.
