Oil pressure light after sitting in traffic
Traffic jam the day after last. Oil pressure light came on idling at stoplight, rev engine light goes off.
Replaced timing chain cover last weekend, it had cracked from not having enough studs in motor mount after rebuild.
My guess is i didn't torque down the torx screws over the pump cover correctly. I have it out and it's not loose, what worked after the rebuild was just putting Loctite on a dry screw (put it on oil soaked screws this time).
My question is the oil seal that does not have the metal ring, I can't tell what way it goes back in with the internal cone towards the engine or the cover. I have it towards the cover at the moment.
Oil pump from new cover had no noticeable gaps could not get a feeler gauge in there, primed it, the light did not come on until the traffic jam.

Re: Oil pressure light after sitting in traffic
I would suggest checking the oil level amd possibly connecting a mechanical gauge to the hole in the block where the oil pressure sending unit goes and verify what your oil pressure is.
You may need to order a new front seal kit, as well. Those o-rings are not to be reused, as torqueing down the timing cover actually crushes them. Mahle makes the timing cover kits.
