Default Front vibration when braking

Hey everybody as you know I just bought my 01 SL1 and when I bought it it had a very bad vibration upon hitting the brake pedal. I looked at the rotors when I took them off and you could definitely tell they were trash. So I put on brand new brake pads and rotors from AutoZone am I vibration is much better but still when I hit the brakes I get a vibration in the steering wheel. I did pull up the e-brake a little bit at speed to see how the rears by themselves felt and they were smooth. Is it possible I just got warped rotors out of the box or is there other things that maybe I should check? The suspension and wheel bearings were tight I had checked all of that while I had it in the air doing the brakes. Other than that the old girls running great new temperature sensor and spark plugs do wonders my wife rode in it who also owns a newer car and she was actually impressed with how well the Saturn did for its age. (My wife is a spoiled baby) so she would never say nice things about an average older car

Do you have a routine for bedding in new brakes and rotors?

Usually make half a dozen or so medium aggressive stops from about 60 down to 35mph.

I'd recommend replacing the bushings and maybe the guide pins. Use the special silicone grease.

You might check to be sure the rotors are fully up against the hub... Be sure there is no accumulation of rust or dirt etc 'behind' the rotor. Are the pads seated properly ?
Let us know what you find please...

I will double check and report what I find tomorrow. I know the pads are ok and the rotors just float in place but I'll make sure the hub looks clean I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when I did them but I'll double check tomorrow.

I got away without replacing the boots and pins for a long time, and then I didn't. Apparently normal grease swells the rubber and causes the guide pins to bind. After replacing and using the silicone grease they slid much more freely.

^^ Agreed, OP did not admit to cleaning and lubing the slide pins, which may be the source of vibration upon braking.

Check your tie rode ends for wear BOTH Outer and Inner. If an outer wears and you have movement, you will notice it as a vibration when you brake. Had that with a GM Olds some years. Felt like the wheels would fall off on braking.

I did lube the slide pins, front end suspension was all tight. Anytime you do brakes you lube slide pins.

So after using a dial indicator and checking both front rotors that were replaced I found that the passengers front was warped and I ordered a new one from AutoZone and they literally forgot to order it 5 times in a row so I finally got my money back and went to O'Reilly's and got a replacement rotor and it's fine now stops good and smooth.
