Default another high mile

interesting, found another high mile Saturn. Strangest part is it's not far from me.

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d...594422449.html

$800, looks decent, 500+k on it.

It's an SC1. And I don't think it's a 1999 like the ad says, MOST of the 99's had 3 doors if I'm not mistaken.

I think the early '99s had two doors - 3 door was a mid year change.

Gotta admire his optimism. $800k for a car with a half million miles. It might be worth it, but the problem is comparable cars with fewer miles.

This one looks like it was in a front end fender bender at some point. Hood is crumpled, lots of rust at the latch area, and it looks to be missing the front badge, some of the fascia support, and under-tray

My 94 SC1 had a reading gas gauge with the car shut off. I think it may have been a 2nd gen design change because my 97 (when I owned it) and my current 99 don't have a reading on the gas gauge until the car starts up.

I have driven EVERY brand of GM cars, except for Geo, and I have yet to see that "feature" actually work when the car is ON, let alone OFF.......

On most GMs, when the needle gets to -tank, that means you better be -mile from the gas station.....

I just worked on a 95 SL base model and the gas gauge did show the fuel level even with the key out.

I looked this morning, and my fuel gauge on my '02 dropped to empty when I turned the key off.

Not sure why this was a big deal though for Saturn/GM to fix, though. Not hard to turn to key just far enough for power to the gauges, or check the fuel gauge before shutting down

The fuel gauge on my early 1997 SW2 drops to zero when the power is off. In fact, I use the gauge's movement to let me know the fuel pump has finished priming/pressuring the injectors and commence starting.

(1997s have the fubar'd check valve in the fuel pump.)

500+k but you wouldnt know from looking at it from the outside. The rear bumper is in much better shape than the one on my 183k SC1.

I seldom see coupes lacking a spoiler, so i find this one to look a bit strange without it. Cleaner look for sure but something about the design makes it look "Bald" without the small spoiler.
