Default I see some serious sub-frame rust

My rust is on the drivers side "big flat piece" that curves down from the engine area. The passenger side is in perfect shape. I know sometimes these cancers set it and run wild. I saw some posts about people replacing there's but I could not determine if anyone has actually done it and if so - where one might get the parts (besides a junk-yard.)

It's a fairly straightforward swap. A dozen or so bolts, most are pretty obvious but a couple ground connections are kinda hidden. Have to unbolt the power steering rack from the subframe. You'll need to support the engine and radiator/condenser from the top before removing the subframe though. Oh yeah, have to remove/disconnect the downpipe. That's in the way while removing the subframe. Plan an entire day, maybe two. While you're in there, replace your control arms and stabilizer bar bushings too. I got my replacement from a wrecking yard in Utah on ebay. $300 or so shipped if I remember right. Not a spot of rust anywhere on it which was nice. Impacts, breaker bars and oxy/acetylene are your friend. Take your time, don't rush things and enjoy the process. It's a pain in the ass, but it's a fun pain in the ass.

Be sure to secure the steering wheel so it doesn't migrate. And make sure the steering box doesn't drop so the steering column comes out. I've run out of gas a number of times, because I can't see the gas gauge thru my upside down steering wheel.

Also you might checkout the area where your trailing arms bolt to the body. If this area is rusted out, it's probably not worth putting the time and money into a new cradle.
