Radiator Cooling Fan Problem
The radiator fan in my 2003 Ion with 180K doesn't come on, even with the A/C running. It is warm enough here for AC, and the compressor does kick in. I checked the cooling fan fuse which is fine and swapped the relay with another one. At that point I assumed the fan was bad, so I replaced it.
The new fan also does not come on. If I jumper the switched relay pins (as a test), it comes on. This tells me the wiring, fuse, and new fan are fine. I switched the relay again with one that works in another circuit and nothing.
As a last resort, I "rebooted" the car (removed battery cable for a few minutes). Still no fan.
Any ideas? If needed, I can setup a "ghetto" switch to turn on the fan, but I would prefer to fix it correctly.

Re: Radiator Cooling Fan Problem
Maybe this wiring diagram can help since you manually bypassed the relay to power the fan. The other side of circuitry is the command side where the ecm commands the fan relay on to power the fan.
