Its been a while, but if I remember correctly, the reverse bulb socket is similar to the brake bulb socket. Remove one of your taillights and familiarize how the brake bulb socket is removed, the reverse bulbs socket should be similar.

Once you get the socket connectors out, make sure to wear latex gloves when changing the bulbs. GM used some kind of thick, yellow insulation grease on those bulbs and the oils of your skin actually reduce the life of the new bulb.

Like the connectors, the bulbs will need to be turned slightly to be removed and the new ones installed. You may notice the replacement bulbs have little, metal tabs on the very bottom of them, and they may be offset. This is so the bulb is not installed incorrectly into the connector.

If there's no metal tabs then there's no way for the bulbs to lock into the socket or you got the wrong bulbs.

The yellow grease is put on the sockets from the factory, it generally doesn't come with replacement bulbs (never seen it included).
