2003 VUE 3.0L
Default 03 Vue 3.0 thermostat.....while they are in there....

I'm having the thermostat replaced on my 2003 Vue (3.0 AWD). (It had the cold engine code....and temp gauge does seem to stay low) I understand that the intake manifold has to be removed to do this. Any suggestions for other maintenance while they are in there? Also having transmission serviced. I would like to keep this car running as long as possible. Recently I had the timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belt replaced. The car has 154,000 miles on it.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

when they remove the plugs they will see inside the plug wells and if there is any oil puddling there than they should change the valve cover gaskets. i have seen several oz's of oil in each well and i cannot believe the mechanic would not mention changing the gaskets than. be warned though, most parts houses do not stock the 3.0 parts. they might have to order them.
