Default Security issues? Maybe?

2001 l100. It is my nephew's car.
His friend decided that to install his new radio head unit he would cut the wires while battery was still hooked up. Ever since, the lights flicker/flash/shut off (auto headlights and dash lights) also the security light flickers along with other indicator lights. It also makes the gauges die sometimes. I am pretty inclined when it comes to vehicles but have exhausted my knowledge as how to fix this one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

So none of these problems existed prior to this new radio head installation - correct? First things first, be sure that the battery is fully charged - minimum reading of 12 volts - and has a successful testing and that the charging system output is adequate, from 13.5 to 14.5 volts with the engine running. Once those things are known to be functioning correctly, then I'd suggest disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnecting it. It's possible that the system may need to be reset and this is one way to force that to happen.

After the battery has been reconnected and no change has been noted, then more in-depth diagnosis will be required. The only one who knows which wires were cut and which weren't is this friend. He should be questioned regarding the work he performed. Out here we're all at a tremendous disadvantage as we have no idea what wires were cut, or perhaps unintentionally damaged, or if contacts were possibly weakened. Please keep the thread updated and let us know how things are progressing.

Battery is good. Volts are good. Tried leaving battery off over night. No change. And he cut all wires going to radio at once. And no. No problems before hand
Edit to first post.
No auto light headlights, but if you don't turn them on manually ( twisting the nob to on) they will flash on and off.

1-Does this car run or not?

2-Did anyone check for blown fuses in three fuse panels (engine bay, left and right for wells)?

My guess is one or more wires are related to OnStar communications the body control module monitors and may have done something to the bcm whether or not OnStar was installed. The wire harnesses aren't eliminated if OnStar isn't installed. The vcim connects to the mirror and radio to control music with OnStar muting radio stations to allow cellular communications thru the radio.

The bcm controls almost all lighting, security, and monitors every module for diagnostic purposes.

Runs and drives. And checked fuses. All seem ok. Guessing it's the bcm then?

My presumptions of your L100 having OnStar as an option is wrong. Either I'm blind and cannot find wiring info or OnStar wasn't available in '01 for L100's.

Below are the two radio wiring diagrams, stock and the Advanced Audio System with a separate amp. Go over wiring. Maybe grounds are missing and causing the bcm to act strange? I can only guess the bcm isn't damaged and possibly grounds are loose or missing. When wire connections are loose or missing, electronics can act strange. The bcm is sitting on top of the glove box.
