Default 1999 SL1 4dr Sedan, 5-Spd 4-Sale; Runs well enough for long distance but needs love.

Hello,

I am a resident of Whidbey Island, WA...1hr+ drive between Bellingham and Everett.

I have had the thorough pleasure and satisfaction of owning this Gold color SL1 for 6.5 yrs; it was 2nd hand from a mechanic who's mother was sole owner. He had rebuilt the engine himself at about 165K, as well as clutch...and answered all of my concerns about older, higher mileage cars.

I've used it as my sole vehicle commuting to the nearby Navy base, as well as several trips to Portland, over the Cascades to Winthrop and Leavenworth and Vancouver, BC.

My driving has raised its mileage to 396,765 and it has started losing compression and consuming more gas since mid summer. Oil consumption is normal/NEVER burned nor run low...heater core replacement and coolant flush performed last spring. It has some electrical faults:I replaced some of the wiring for the lights & signals, the alternator 2 yrs ago, A/C fan blower motor and lock cylinder[..GM cylinder 'freeze' problem..].

However, I am moving to the east coast and don't have the time or means to work on the engine or its other problems:
- The windshield wiper motors need replacing[..I now activate them by
inserting/removing the fuse..]
- There is a short or power drain related to the high beams, which don't work.
- Struts might need adjusting or replacing I think.
- The headliner/upholstery is worn/hangs

It has served me well...it would make a great 'beater' that is still well capable of efficient, long distance driving IF the aforementioned issues are addressed.

Since it still runs well, I was hoping I might get $1,000 - $1,200 bucks for it.

Any takers in the Skagit, Whatcom, Pierce or nearby county areas of WA who might be interested?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
