My SW2 is one of the easiest and smoothest stick shift cars I've owned. I have Torque Drive in the transmission (filled to or less than half way on the cross hatch area of the transmission dip stick) and the delrin bushing on the linkage. The Torque Drive helped a little (IMO), the bushing didn't seem to.
The Sx2 Saturns are geared lower than the Sx1's. This means less slipping the clutch when starting off in 1st and generally means shifting sooner especially into 2nd and 3rd for the Sx2's than the Sx1's.
Double clutching on shifts and getting the engine RPM right is kind of hit and miss because the ECM kind of gives the engine a mind of it's own. But I keep trying anyway on downshifts (mild shifts).
