Default costco

I just took in the wife's 09 Vue to get new Blizzacks put on. They come over and say they need the original factory key fob to reset the TPMS. I asked why and she says it can only be reset with a factory key fob. I asked if they have the TPMS handheld tool, because no one ever needed the fob before. She must have thought I had no idea and started on about new cars are different and only the factory remote will work. I didn't tell her I've been in electronics since the 60s and know BS when I hear it. Anyway they charge $5 per tire to reset the TPMS and you would assume Costco would have the TPMS scanner.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Yeah, any opportunity to charge extra for some "Nebulous Gobbledygook" associated with "modern cars". I hope they didn't lock you out of the onboard programming capabilities your vehicle is equipped with.

I used to go to Costco for a lot of tire stuff. Check at www.tires.com for a location near you. Some places are Discount Tire while around me it's America's Tire. Their policy is to beat any legitimate pricing, including discount clubs like Costco or Sam's Club...
