Default 2005 vue 2.2 compatibility.

Hey guys,

I recently bought a 2wd 2005 vue with the 2.2 ecotec in it. The motor had an slight tapping sound in it, so I figured it was the timing chain guide giving out. Well it turns out the wrist pin in cylinder number one has worn away and now number one has play in it.

My question is, I have a 2003 Saturn ion coupe with a good motor, would this motor work for a complete drop in? And if yes, is there anything that would need to be swapped?
Thanks,
Lojer

How do you come to that conclusion without taking the motor apart?

I have the head off the motor and when I put cylinder number one to tdc, I can push it down by hand, that's how I know it's a wrist pin. The car ran awesome prior to the motor teardown, it just had a terrible sound like timing chain slap.
