2004 VUE Red Line
Default 04' Redline front end vibration

Guys, have an annoying vibration in the front end while driving on interstate 60-80 mph range in my 04' Redline fwd. Has a clunking sound to it that is felt in the steering wheel. Where can I start to determine what it is? Car had it when I bought it used but chalked it up to worn out tires that needed replaced. I drove it for a few months and finally bit the bullet and bought new tires. Also had the shop do full alignment before installing the new tires. However vibration/clunk is still there. Where can I start to determine what it is? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2003 VUE 2.2L
Default Re: 04' Redline front end vibration

Bad front bearings. very common problem.

Mine developed a kind of a buzzing vibration sound / feel. I replaced both sides. The old left side was probably ok, but the bearing from the passenger side definitely was causing the buzzing vibration.

I bought the new bearings on Amazon, $32 each (mine doesn't have anti-skid)

You may be able to jack / lift one wheel at a time, make sure to block it, then run the engine to spin the wheel as see if you get the vibration.

Check swaybar bushings and end links, tie rod ends, struts and strut mounts, ball joints and control arm bushings.

Type “Saturn Vue clunk noise” in YouTube search (Salvador Estrada) and see if it helps, worked on mine. Also check lower control arm bushings, mine were shot and were not difficult to replace. Agree with previous post to look at sway bar bushings and links.

Because you say it has a clunk, either sway bar end link or lower back control arm bushing or both are likely causes
