Default P0722 comes back after replacing OSS 04 automatic

Bought the speed sensor at O'Reilly's for $170. Replaced it, erased codes. Expected to fix issue, but the speedometer still jumps around, pwr str message displays and car doesn't shift higher. It shifts better than before, I think it might be the wiring. Went back to an O'Reilly's they told me the computer may still be learning the OSS. Speedometer works fine above 30. Around 10 and 20 it stalls and drops fast or jumps erratically. I'm thinking it might be the wires, I'll try wrapping them with electrical tape. I've heard of conductive grease, would that help? I'm so stressed out over having to restart the car only after driving it a little. Can anyone point me to the right Direction?

This reprint is for the 5-speed AF23-5 automatic and not the VT25-E cvt xmission.
