Default Aura '08 2.4L for dingy towing

I'm thinking about doing some long term RVing and am looking at an '08 Aura the dealer says is a 2.4L automatic as a possible towable. I've found info on the V6s but not the 4 banger. Anyone know for sure??

Thanks in advance

Your question at the end of the post is unclear. It seems as if you're asking whether or not an Aura with a four cylinder engine is towable. Well, I don't know why it wouldn't be.

An Aura with the ECOTEC 2.4L engine should be paired with a GM 4T45E transmission. In general, it's a reliable power train if it's been maintained properly. My car has a "cousin" engine to it, a 2.2L along with a slightly smaller transmission, a 4T40E, and they've been highly reliable for me.

If the car you're looking at has a six speed transmission, don't buy it. That transmission, GM's 6T70E, has had serious problems and cost GM lots of money in warranty repairs and replacements of them. If you look up this transmission model here and on the internet generally, you'll find a great deal of information relating its troubles.

Let us know what you decide to do!
