Default Body Control Module/Power Booster

...and I'm back.
Okay, after reading threads, I've realized that my body control module is failing. Would that also cause my power brakes to go out? Saturday morning I lost my power brakes, I have to use my two little feet to brake hard enough to stop the car. Just wondering I'd the two are connected.
My car is a 2001 L300 3 Liter
Thanks!

Answer: no. The power brake booster is not, nor are any of the basic operating components of your braking system, electrical. The booster operates with engine vacuum, the brake system is hydraulic and mechanical. If you have ABS then there are electrical components within the system, but they do not engage during otherwise normal operation. (This would not include emergency stops nor stops on wet/slick pavement.)

Your description of the manner in which you had to depress the brake pedal is consistent with a typical power brake booster failure. The failure results from a rupture of the vacuum diaphragm within the booster casing so that vacuum can no longer be held. You may notice poorer idling and engine performace as well. It is possible to have a complete loss of vacuum supplied to the booster. However, such a major loss of vacuum would also result in extremely poor engine idling and performance.

I had to replace the booster on my Lw300. I had a gradual loss of boost, they can also fail rapidly like yours.
