That is correct. Yellow wire becomes purple wire at the clutch safety switch on the floor as per this photo.

On the 02 model the start runs through the clutch switch. I have a light switch in my sl1 and a heavy momentary push button to start. I bypasses the passlock with a single resistor in the bcm =)

Success! I ended up bypassing a bunch of stuff like a remote start kit would. I'm using covered switches for everything, including the one that triggers the starter solenoid. The cover is spring loaded so It's very easy to turn off. Pictured are the four switches that mimic the functions of the normal ignition switch.

The final switch that starts the car is located under the steering wheel, out of sight. the motion required to reach down and flip it on makes closing the cover a natural feeling motion (a happy coincidence)

thanks again guys! Next up, plugs, wires and (yet another) oil change
