There must have been a lot of numbers crunching to determine whether or not to build a plant in Australia or revamp existing facilities and ship vehicles overseas......... with long term goals in mind for future projects. Perhaps this is a small hint of jobs leaving the country for years and now a slow reversal of outsourcing? Is it possible the world's economy has leveled the playing field where US labor is competitive to other nations to allow us to regain lost jobs given to Europe and the Pacific rim?

I thought Spring Hill already built the Cadillac XT5 crossover. Maybe GM decided on another assembly plant.
I know Trump, uh President Trump, is griping about Cruze hatchbacks, RAM trucks and Corollas made in Mexico and would like to see more U.S production, so the answer to fdryer's inquiry is 'maybe so'. ![]()

We should buy that facility, if GM goes bankrupt again, and pull out all the old tooling for building our Saturn S-Series. A new law, allows you to make under 300 cars, each year, as "Replicas". They must pass emissions for the model year engine they are equipped with, meaning emissions standards for the actual year from which the engine was produced, not current emissions standards.
And those "Replicas" are allowed to be identical in both name and badge, as the originals, without civil liability from the original equipment manufacturer, because the car is technically a "Replica" of the original. We could put Pontiac Fieros back into production, as well, since most of the patent licenses have expired for both types of cars.
