2005 VUE 2.2L
2002 SL2
Default Transaxle & Engine compatability.

I recently picked up 2 Saturn vues. One 05 2.2 5 sp is road worthy the other 03 2.2 cvt on its way out is a parts donor. I had recently gotten a lead on an 02 3.0, auto, awd, blown motor. Im suspecting the timing belt went..

The question is... Will the 03 2.2 install and bolt up to the 02 asin automatic?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I don't know, , it might be a can of worms...... consider keeping it on the backburner for your '05 4banger. Just need to update the Tchain oilier/guides/tensioner so it doens't self destruct... Might even be covered under recall as the 03's definitely had issues w/ Tchains.

That would be "No".

I'm with Chazberry. The Aisin auto won't even bolt up to the 2.2 nevermind the wiring and PCM nightmare trying to get it to work.

Wouldn't be worth picking up the 3.0 V6 unless you wanted the interior out of it or something...

You can find an Aisin AF23 out of a Ion that would bolt up to the 2.2 and replace the CVT...this is a well documented swap...just wrapping up one myself.
