2003 VUE 3.0L
Default 2003 Vue shaky headlights

My 2003 Vue headlights are a bit shaky. The main brackets are good but the lower guides are worn out. does anyone have a good fix for them besides buying new assemblies? Picture of what I need to repair is attached.

Is that the lower attachment point? Doesn't look like mine (?). If that rusty stud is loose in the socket, could you put some heat shrink tubing on it to make it a tighter fit?

You could use quick plastic or some similar adhesive. It's a putty-type epoxy that is machinable after about an hour of curing time and sticks really well to all sorts of plastics, PVC and metals. Actually, my shower caddy has been holding up for years thanks to quick plastic. I would recommend to roughen up large flat surfaces and maybe even drill a couple of holes in them to make a good through-hold, though.

Come to think of it, I might go buy a tube to fix my friggin' steamed-up headlights once and for all... Thanks for asking, you might have fixed MY problem
