Default Yet another Intake Question

Hi Guys,

I have been reading the fourms in here for a bit, on just about everything. Now I must revive a dying horse.

I would like to know, if the Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99 (Non-Turbo) Intake is a decent enough filter for my 1995 Saturn ?

Link: http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2DXXNT%2DAISX This one is $59.99
... but they also list another filter that comes with a heat shield for 29.99
Link: http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2DHSNT%2DAISX

I basically want to start to mod my car but figure you have to start somewheres and since my saturn is just a '95 SOHC .. I figure on the following mods...

1. Intake
2. Throttle body
3. Rear disc brake conversion
4. ... endless

And since living in canada makes moddin a saturn HARD, I have to buy US parts.

Please get back to me, about this, Thanx alot guys..

BTW. Good information posted and general knowlege.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

would that fit onto a '99 DHOC as well?... it looks like the general shape but is there enough bend/length?

Does the PCM need to be reset, either by fuse, or by unplugging the battery, or can you get away with just running it w/o restting. ?

Best to reset- your air flow is going to jump A LOT. Unhook the battery (negative cable) before you start the process, and put it back on when you're done.

Just spend a little extra and get the short ram AEM intake. $129.00 at www.optionsautosalon.com and they also sell the cold air intake version for $236.00. 129 isnt bad for the best intake on the market and you'll be glad you didn't go the cheap route.

Why couldn't you just modify the 59.99 dollar one, with a fabricated pipe, and make it a cold air intake ?

I mean it wouldn't be easy or hard, just time comsuming .... Plus you get to enjoy the mod, and have rights to say that the parts I bought were not bolt on, and you get to have fun making the cold air intake ....

Plus what would be the difference if you just put like a flexi-pipe (like one from a dryer) to suck (force) air from outside into the engine compartment..

I mean I love to tinker with stuff to make things run like a bolt on, but with a little blood and sweat...

After all isn't moddin' a car all about doing things to fit your personality, unlike honda ricers?
