1997 SL
Default Goodbye L200

Wife's car
2002 L200
225,000 miles

We bought a 2016 Kia Forte last week. Which is a technological step up of about two generations. Really like it. A little too complex for me (a Luddite 1997 SL owner) but it's guaranteed for a LONG time.

She was worried about the L200 too much. Original starter, alt, timing chain, shocks, calipers, radiator, ignition mod, A/C system, exhaust, wheel bearings.
New headliner, a fuel pump about 10 years ago, that's about all we did to it.

It sure gave her good service for 14 years.

We didn't trade it, as the book value was maybe $100. Probably sell it outright.

Thanks to all on this forum, for help over the past 8 years.

08 Burgman 400
02 Haro MTB- can't kill it, still trying though

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

The Kia Forte appears to be an import using similar baseline configurations with an upgrade to a six speed manual. As Hyundai's little brother division, Kia's seem to be competing with other small cars (Fiat 500?) for the small car market. Drivetrain warranty at 10 yrs/100k miles is very good. Hopefully you'll never see a Kia dealership for warranty work......... And guessing you'll be finding a Kia forum in the future to share with like minded owners.
