Default Rollover, Crash Test Results 2003 Vehicles(NHTSA)

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/nhtsa/annou...e=pr31-03.html

ION's side impact results still under review? Usually, thats not good.

NOTE: Rollover results are based on some mathematical formulas.

From what I've read, most vehicles tested didn't fare well with the rollover test, so don't fret the ION.

is it me, or are the smaller cars of today getting taller and taller. I would think that a higher ride would have an increased probability of rollover, i need to see that mathematical calculation to make sure...

With the crash test in mind, that is why I will continue to buy a Saturn. The front end just smashed while the passenger compartment stayed in tact.....

Good god...that movie is scary! I hate those thing. God forbid that ever happens to you. Keep the faith! Saturn makes safe and reliable cars...I have actual testimonials from PPL who have been involved in accidents in a Saturn vehicle.

Peace.

That's what persuaded me to buy my first Saturn, Ali. I was doing a report on them in high school. Saturn sent me a whole bunch of info about the company and their cars. They sent me an article of a crash where a bunch of kids were going over 100 mph in an S series. They rolled the car end to end, and the most injury was a guy with a broken arm. Right then and there, I knew that car was the right one for me. So 2 years later when I could afford it, I drove off the lot in my first Saturn, my SL1....

So ends another first Saturn story.......here at SaturnFans.com
Sounds like the end of a soap opera, doesn't it.....hehe

Wow...see what I love about Saturn is the whole concept. You have called the customer service ppl so you know...they really go out of their way.

The person I sold my SW1 to got hit on the passenger side door...car had 140,000 miles on it. Thankfully no one was injured but insurance paid all repair costs.

A little off topic here but went to the SUV section to see what the Vue rated for crash ratings. Couldn't find it. Have they not crash tested it yet.

VUE Side Impact test IIHS

Rated a Poor..
Quote:
NOTE: The VUE tested was not equipped with the optional side airbags. When side airbags are optional, the Institute tests vehicles without this option. If a manufacturer selling optional side airbags requests the Institute to conduct an additional test of a vehicle with this option and agrees to reimburse the cost of the vehicle, a second test is conducted. General Motors did not request such a test.

Most SUVs have some pretty poor side impact ratings. They try to justify this by raising the vehicles off of the ground, but it doesn't help. They're unsafe and unbalanced vehicles.

I don't know if you could draw a conclusion based on the fact that side impact information has not yet been released. The testing procedure may have failed or the data may not have been conclusive enough.
