So, I took a video of my car when holding the break and pressing the gas when in drive. There was movement. So, I understand that some movement is normal. How do I tell when there is too much engine movement?

I would have linked the video but it is too big.

Old guy: How do you know movement is too much movement?

Is some movement normal? Is there a video on you tube that you know of that would shows this?

Thanks

J

Again, I've never dealt with a car with 4 motor mounts, but 1-2" tops would be my guess. (I was hoping someone with a Vue would be able to give you a better answer.)

Here is my video of the motor mount test. I am holding the brake, put it in drive and hitting the gas. Is this a bad mount? See link on you tube.

Looks excessive to me, but than I have no experience with a FWD with 4 mounts. Anyone?

Arrggg! Don't say that bern.

It has to be the mounts. The AAMCO guy said it wasn't the trans. So, I dare ask... Is there anything else it could be?

Ideas? Please?

Another thing to consider; That test doesn't tell you much about the right side motor mount.

Best drawing I could find, number 3 in the picture above, I think.

What damage can bad motor mounts cause? If so are there warning ⚠ signs? I need some ammo to bring with me to the dealer. Some issue relating to car danger to hang over their head. Ideas...?

Just got back from the dealer. They said the motor mounts looked good. I think they just looked at them. They didn't test them or anything.

So, am I missing something here? If it is not the transmission and it is not the mount, what is it?

I am also having starter issues and the service ,gr said he thinks it is the fuel pump going. I guess that's another thread.

So, please let me know that someone has some ideas. It is still driving me crazy.

I noticed that it is not as pronounced as the "rumble strip" but is a low sounding vibration.

Ideas...

Have a passenger video record the sound and conditions (speed ect.) while you duplicate the vibration / noise. Also take a 2nd recording when the concern is not present driving in a similar conditions. Post it if you can.

Well, I'm about to give up! I took it top the "stealership" who said the motor mounts are fine. They don't know what the problem is. I tried to record the sound for this forum but the tire noise is too loud.

SO I CALLED GM!

I opened a case complaining about the fact that they still can't figure where the issue is. I also go news about my starter issue. They said it is most likely the fuel pump. Thankfully, I have a warranty for that.

Also looking for wheel center cap 96464480

So, any ideas left?

Okay, I started a new post because I may be a little delirious with joy. see thread:

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=207611

Or just read. So, in an Acadia post, I found this...

2007 and 2008 models
May 8 Transmission Flash May 8 Transmission Flash May 8 Transmission Flash May 8 Transmission Flash May 8 Transmission Flash May 8 Transmission Flash
#08-07-30-022: Hesitation or Flat Spot Between 56-80 km/h (35-50 mph) (Reprogram Transmission Control Module) - (May 8, 2008)

Subject: Hesitation or Flat Spot Between 56-80 km/h (35-50 mph) (Reprogram Transmission Control Module)
Models: 2008 Buick Enclave
2007-2008 GMC Acadia
2007-2008 Saturn OUTLOOK
with FWD or AWD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Condition
Some customers may comment on a flat spot or hesitation between 56-80 km/h (35-50 mph) speed range.

Cause
The existing transmission calibration is programmed to maximize fuel economy and requires a greater throttle input than some customers would prefer to provide acceleration in this speed range.

Correction
A new calibration is available. This new calibration increases the speed required to obtain upshifts and removes TCC apply from 2nd to 3rd gear, thereby reducing engine lugging and improving vehicle response to accelerator input.

Important: This calibration will have a negative impact on fuel economy of 0-1.2 L/100 km (0-2 mpg) combined driving.

could my issue be related and resolved by a simple update??????

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Hey Oldguy43,

You were right! It WAS THE MOTOR MOUNT!

It is officially fixed! Cost $400 (ouch) but worth it. I now have a normal car!

After about 4 months of frustration, the Issue is fixed.

Thanks everyone who was nice enough to help! thanks!

VueofBubbles, who determined your motor mounts were worn out (video appears to verify too much engine movement) and needed replacement?
