Could always look around to see if you have a shop like that over there.
there is a reputably exhaust shop near me also, but I like doing a lot of things myself.

I do too, for the most part.
I don't know how to weld, and cant afford the tools to learn currently.
And the only other thing was swapping out my struts. Cant afford a GOOD spring compressor yet. Hoping to have that by summer though.

replacing the struts were fun lol took a whole weekend, but the biggest issue I had was removing the top strut nut that screws onto the shock absorber.
we eventually had to take it to someone with a pipe wrench and an impact.
I had got a set of cheap compressors, where you use a ratchet to compress the spring.
other than that top nut, it was smooth sailing.
Almost didn't need the compressors when installing the lowering springs lol

harbor freight has good prices on a mig machine with flux core wire for mild steel. you can get carbon steel too.
I got mine for around $80 with a super coupon. had it for a year, and haven't used it yet lol
my senior year in high school had welding classes available to take, and so I did.

I got to watch the guy at my shop do my struts, and it seems really easy with the compressor he had, and the air tools. lmao
Harbor freight has awesome prices on everything. Something to look into for future fun.
I did consider taking automotive or welding in my senior year, but at the time I was planning to go to college and dual enrolled in my culinary classes to try to get a jump start. College never did work out for me though.

if everything cooperated well with me, it prolly would have taken a few hours to get everything done.
Its just that one top mount bolt on the end of the shock that was a huge set back.

thats where i got my 22gal air compressor, my mig welder, and a bunch of tool, including a 21" breaker bar i use for my lugnuts, and a torque rachet.
the compressor was on sale during one of their tent sales, which led me to buying it for $100 instead of the regular 180, but cant carry anywhere with me other than leaving it home bec its an oiled compressor, and you cant lay them down or itll ruin the compressor.
the welder with a coupon for 89 instead of 139 i think.
gotta love good deals lol

My latest mod on my 05 ION sedan. I love this Aeroforce tech interceptor . Still trying to figure out all the parameters . Finally got the steering column pod and installed it .

not bad. gives it a nice visual appearence.
i like using my torque app on my phone when its needed.

just had a wheel hub bearing go out, and make a really loud humming sound, which gets louder at higher speeds.
passenger bearing was shot, and got it replaced with one from pull apart, which surprisingly was in good shape.

still need to do end links and tie rod ends, and finally, an alignment.
doing an alignment by hand will only take you so far.

one project im getting edged closer and closer to doing is a rear disc brake conversion (my drum brakes been giving me a ton of trouble since i replaced the shoes).
theres 2 way iv seen i can go about with this:
Option 1: get a complete RL or SS wheel hub/brake/axle beam swap, along with all 4 RL/SS brakes/rotors, and 5 lug hubs and wheels. more expensive but thorough route.
Option 2: get just the rear RL/SS brakes/rotors, get a rear caliper mounting bracket to mount behind the hub fabricated, and take the rotors to a shop to drill a 4x100 lug pattern into them. much cheaper method, and get to keep current 4x100 pattern setup.

Thank you! I want to look into the Bluetooth/ iPhone option. Sorry to hear about your hub bearing . I know it's onlya matter of time that I start having mine go out . The brake conversion I'm interested in also . I haven't researched it yet. For some reason my image in the thread uploaded sideways, lol

im holding off the idea of the conversion for now since I finally have the self adjusters to work correctly, rather them disassembling itself and breaking the drum internals.

I still am interested into the idea, but its not as pressing now.

what is pressing at the moment is getting my exhaust manifold replaced, and fixing my downpipe.
I hit a roadkill and it broke a coupler that was added and the it occasionally separates, and make the noise ridiculously overwhelming.
I have a couple of tiny welds on it to hold it for now until I can eventually remove it, and get it welded back together.

my recent trip to pull apart, I got lucky to come across a 06 ion with the LE5 (2.4l) engine, which happen to have the oem fog lights, and a silver gauge cluster.
grabbed the bumper grill and fog lamps, and took apart the gauge cluster and grabbed just the gauge faces.
I got the gauge faces swapped, taking my circuit board from my cluster, and placed it onto the new faces, but missed one important step: the odo screen.
there is a wide ribbon cable from the circuit board to the lcd at the bottom of the speedo for the odo and milage, and ended up ripping it off, and almost no possible way to get it fixed.
Other than that mishap, it looks great, even better with the blue LEDs.
Gauges and everything else works with no issues, just cant see my milage, when cruise is set, when to change oil, or when running low om fuel (gotta rely on the gauge now).

Also put my personal touch to the speedo too
the lil sticky not, I wrote my last known milage (~227800), and zeroed out my GPS milage, so all id have to do is add what my gps has to the last known milage.
The gps stays with the car, and is never turned off while driving.

I have yet to install the fogs, but I will after I check them out for any damage.

got the fogs installed, along with the bumper grill.
replacing it was a lot easier than expected, and taking the bumper off made a huge help.
one of the lenses had a broken mount, which I got fixed with some JB Weld.

Just needs bulbs now, which I will be ordering this weekend.
are they H11 or 881? im getting mied results on what type of bulb they are.

also debating on either darkening them, or opening them and painting it gloss black.

ok guys, im stuck on what set of rims to get.
the bronze Racing Harts I got are getting cracks for whatever reason, and JB Weld isn't holding up very well.
Heres the options. they are all 17"

one of them has a good tire on them.

all 4 of these has tires, but are about 40% tread left.

These all have newish tires on them, and were painted. used to be chrome

I like the blue on those lol.
That's something I thought about doing with my wheels is I were to get a 2 tone set

This is my current set now, which I need to get new tires for.
Will just take the tires from my previous set, since they only have around a couple thousands miles on, and put them on these.

Enkei RS-6 17" with the large center caps.

things to do:
Replace tires on Enkeis.
Replace either just the LCA bushings and balljoint, or the whole LCA.
Replace swaybar bushings (with urethane if possible).
Check/replace inner tie rods to see if source or wheel shake.

Yeah, that's two of the reasons I got these rims. The blue lip/center cap and I was able to use the same tires that were already mounted on the steelies.

Those 17's are clean. Really nice, not too flashy.

yea, it gets pricey getting larger rims.
I had originally 15" steelies also, but those tires were getting bad, so it was time for new tires anyways.

however, this is my third set of rims too.
the first set I found at pull apart without checking them, and finding out they are badly bent, and one cracked.
The second set were good, but ended up getting cracked after use. these were lightweight performance rims, so my guess is they weren't capable for daily driving, expecially south Louisiana roads.
These are good, but has loads of curb rash on them. I seen videos where you can use bondo to fill in the gaps and scraps, sand it down smooth, and repaint over it with the matching color, unless your recoloring them.

I've had 2 sets of 17s and went to 16s because the 17s use to get bent on potholes. Plus the 16s have more sidewall so the ride is more forgiving. If you can get it low enough 16s or 15s don't look too bad.
