With a several General Motors recalls underway - especially ones for the Saturn Ion, Outlook, and Sky - I've received emails from quite a few folks who are concerned that their vehicles might be impacted. If you haven't received a letter in the mail from GM and you are worried, General Motors has set up an online database that's searchable by VIN.

We received a recall notice about the ION's ignition switch possibly turning off by itself but parts are on order. In the meantime GM requested that we remove any unnecessary other keys or weights from the ignition key fob.

Attention `06 Vue Recall?

I understand GM recalled 2002-04 Vues b/c their keys can be pulled out of the ignition switch while the car is running.

I own a 4-cylinder manual `06 Vue (in Canada) and I recently noticed this identical problem. It will be 6-weeks before I can get a dealer to look at it. GM Customer Service won't commit to fixing it until it's looked at. I don't feel safe letting my wife drive it.

Could this be yet another recall? Has anyone experienced this? Here's what Auto News wrote:

• 202,115 2002-04 Vues because the key can be removed when the ignition is not in the "off" position, GM said in a statement. The company said it is aware of two crashes and one injury that could be related to the defect.

Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the ignition cylinder and key set if necessary, GM said.
