Default New member from Tennessee

Hello to all.

Got my 1999 SC1 in 2006, with 59K on it. 5-speed manual. It had been in collision in Texas (from carfax), and rebuilt and recertified in Tennessee. Air bags are gone it in, but I got it for a song from a fly-by-night dealer. No vehicles inspections where I live.

So far, I have put new radiator, both half-shafts, wheel bearings, front control arms, new brakes, O2 sensors, plugs, crankshaft position sensor, two ignition coils, struts all around, driver window regulator, and probably a lot of other little things I can't remember at the moment. Now it has 170K on it, and the motor/transmission are solid.

Fixed water on the passenger floor from AC a while back too. The worst thing was bolts on right side lower motor mount fell out (no doubt due to rebuilder work not torqueing down right). Motor fell down onto frame, and threw the serp belt. Got all that fixed, along with a leaking timing chain cover when I did that.

Did all the work myself in my garage these past few years.

It has some SC2 parts on it, like the wheels and a few other bits and pieces from when they rebuilt it.

Anyway, even with all that, I love the car. 3rd door is brilliant. Easy to work on...really. Economy is excellent. Parts inexpensive compared to my other cars.

I'm here just looking for suggestions and ideas on this and that.

Thanks.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
