Default gm 12346141 or rtv for timing cover

OK I've seen quite a bit of people using rtv. I've used the ultra grey without issues in the past, also used ultra black. I can pickup some new old stock gm 12346141which is recommended. Should I give the gm stuff a try? Price is similar either way.

Permatex The Right Stuff in the caulking gun tube or cheeze whiz can. Put in a refrigerator for 24 hours before using to give you more assembly time. Use 2 studs at the top to hang the cobver on and a reversed crank sprocket to align the oil pump gear and do enough dry runs that you can hang the cover and push it into place in 2 minutes or less.
