Attention Auto-Transmission Light/Failure 06 Ion 2.2 L

I drive the car, it drives fine, then the trans light comes on and the trans "fails". If I restart the car, it will ocassionally clear and drive fine. Hasn't done this in awhile since before yesterday.

Any ideas what it could be?

When it "fails" it shifts very hard and doesn't accelerate much at all.

104240 miles, had trans flush/filter change @ 98000 miles.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Hmm tough one. First let me ask a dumb question. Are you sure everything was connected and put back where it belonged when the did your trans oil and trans oil filter change?

So I'm not sure if everything was connected correctly when they did the flush. Also, the check engine light comes on and goes off, and the last code I had read to me was a misfire code. I will take it to Autozone this weekend first thing and get another reading.

For the misfire stuff, I changed the ICM, coil pack, and boots. I had previously changed the plugs to iridium plugs at 75k approx. I am going to try and change the fuel filter and o2 sensor. I don't have access to fuel pressure test so if push comes to shove and those don't do the trick, I'll replace the fuel pump. I already pump the intake with carb cleaner a few times and have run multiple tanks of premium w/ injector cleaner every so often.

Back to the problem. Should I check out the tranny control module or solenoid? I know for a fact the trans is working correctly mechanical, so I would assume its an electrical fault of some sort...

Anyone know where I can sell my Ion!?...

UPDATE:

Misfire:

I replaced to O2 sensor and it seems to be running a little better. Haven't driven it to work and back yet, so can't give a good definite.

Trans:

Tranny hasn't "failed" again lately. Don't know what to do now. Replace Tranny control module?
