2007 ION-2 Quad Coupe
Default Re: New exhaust mods installed on the Ion!

The gaskets worked fine, turns out it was indeed the shifting of flanges that were moving the gaskets out of place and creating the leak. It's pretty bad right now, almost sounds like I'm running off of the collector with no exhaust system lol. I'm going to buy bigger bolts tomorrow, 9/16 heads. I think the Gaskets on it now are still good, we took two Felpro gaskets, stuck them together with Copper RTV, and then used the same stuff to put them on the flanges, so I think they're good lmao. I am running super rich right now though, so the wideband is definitely needed asap. After the wideband I'm getting that muffler, I can't stand the noises my car is making, exhaust leak or not.

I know it's an old post but curious to know which magnaflow muffler you went with . I just switched from the street series dual tip (14801) and switched to the race series (14851). I like magnaflow but because my exhaust is angled the muffler doesn't look right . Was wondering if you went with the round 5/6 diameter N1 style . Which is the route I may go. Trying to get an idea of the sound

I know it's not magnaflow, but here was the sound that I had when I had a Borla straight-chamber round can on the end....dang I miss it for city driving but not highway!
