2001 SC2
Default New SC2 Owner

Just wanted to introduce myself. Picked up a SC2, for my daughter on Friday -- her first car! Love the information on this Forum.

It's an 2001, manual tranny, bright blue metallic. Only had 93K miles. Pretty happy with it so far. Of course the sun roof doesn't work (motor works but I think it has the broken rail pieces). Then just over 24 hours later we had the broken shifter bushing . Must have been the practice session yesterday in learning to drive a stick . Fortunately it happened backing out of our driveway and we were able to get the replacement part at NAPA and we had it fixed in about 40 minutes (thanks to info on this forum). Shifts much better now!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Welcome to Saturnfans!
If you haven't already, now would be a good time to check out the New or Returning S-Series owners' checklist Version 3.0.

Regarding the broken shifter bushing, I'd recommend the Stainless Steel bushing. I installed one this weekend merely as preventative maintenance and it is great. That bushing should never fail and it tightens the shifting significantly.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
